DISPLACE ENGINE (2018)

Displace Engine centers itself around absences created by displacement and disassociation; this work utilizes choreographic methods of repetition, instant composition, and variations on kinetic and structural themes; the movement both deconstructs and indulges in sentimentality by romanticizing physical vocabulary over time.

There is libretto involved, instantly composed every performance by performers- creates distance between the dance and the audience. By employing an aesthetic of "sexualized metal,” costumes, design, and sonic environment propels the atmosphere of internality vs externality, inclusivity vs exclusivity.
